River Falls Diabetes Education

River Falls Diabetes Education

Diabetes education and nutrition education.

We are an American Diabetes Association approved diabetes self-management education program and provide diabetes self-management education as an interactive, ongoing process that involves the person with diabetes and the educator/diabetes coach. The intervention aims to achieve optimal health status, better quality of life and reduce the need for costly health care. We focus on seven things patients can do that are essential for improved health status and greater quality of life: healthy eating, being active, monitoring of blood sugars, taking medication (if needed), problem solving, healthy coping and reducing risks. Our diabetes educators give people with diabetes the knowledge, skills and tools they need to successfully manage their diabetes and avoid many of the complications associated with the disease.

We provide our services Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Our two diabetes educators are certified diabetes educators and are Registered Dietitians. Our services are covered by Medicare and most commercial insurance plans. However, individuals should check with their specific plan about coverage and if a referral is required.
