The Ronald D. Paul Companies 5K Walk is a pledge-based event that raises funds and awareness to support the 26 million Americans with chronic kidney disease and more than 100,000 on the waiting list for organs. It's a great way to build teams of co-workers, family, and friends, to empower and honor those affected by chronic kidney disease, as well as to support the local efforts of the National Kidney Foundation. The Walk is open to all ages, and is a fun activity to bring the family along for a healthy, fun, and meaningful event. It also features a Kids Corner, a wellness area, and various pre and post-walk activities. Washington Running Club (WRC) is a long-distance running club of runners in and around Washington, DC. A member club of USA Track and Field, WRC meets for track workouts and distance runs, races together, offers support and cheer, and gathers for various social outings throughout the year. WRC meets in Georgetown every Sunday for distances ranging from 8 to 20 miles. We meet on the 3300 Block of M Street, NW in front of the Georgetown branch of the DC Public Library at 8:00 am. Just look for group of runners. We begin together and then run at paces varying anywhere from 6:00 to 9:30 per mile. WRC members have differing paces and distances, but of course, it all depends on who is there. Most of the routes we run are out and back. Thus, if someone wants to go shorter, they simply turn around and head back. After the run, we regroup to hang out together for coffee and refreshments at Dean & Deluca on M St.
